Community Makes Our Union Stronger

Community is at the heart of everything we do. Our strength comes from the deep connections we share as pilots, united in our commitment to safety, security, and support. By connecting with one another, we share critical information, amplify our collective voice, and elevate our profession.

There are many ways for members to participate in our union and contribute to the pilot community. Whether you’re running for office, volunteering for committees, attending events, or reaching out for support, every action you take helps us grow stronger together. Get engaged and stay informed. You belong to a network that makes our profession and our union strong.

Connect With Your Airline Pilot Community

Pilot Groups

Your pilot group is your first connection to the pilot community. The elected officers of your Master Executive Council manage your pilot group community. Contact your pilot group leaders to explore ways to get involved, like becoming an airport safety liaison (ASL) or volunteering for a committee.

ALPA Events

ALPA offers a variety of events—workshops, seminars, conferences, and more—to support your career and expand your industry knowledge. Attending events is a great way to network and build valuable professional relationships. Search for an upcoming event to connect with the airline pilot community.

Committees

ALPA committees work closely with our staff to represent members' interests, develop and implement programs, and advance the goals of the union and pilot groups.

Pilot Volunteers Are Vital to Our Success

Now is a great time to volunteer and help shape the future of aviation. You have the chance to gain valuable insights from experienced pilot volunteers before they flow to another carrier or retire.

We Advance the Pilot Profession

Volunteer opportunities range from leading your pilot group to participating in committees to mentoring student aviators and more. We have resources and training programs to help you succeed. No matter how you contribute, your involvement plays a crucial role in the future of our profession.

We Connect You to the Pilot Community

You are connected to a global community of pilots through our affiliation with the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA), a nonprofit organization that represents more than 130,000 pilots—including ALPA members—from nearly 100 countries. Only ALPA can connect with pilot associations worldwide via IFALPA.

Through IFALPA, we share knowledge and support with pilots worldwide. This network helps us shape global safety practices, security issues, and industry advancements like pay, benefits, and work rules. When major incidents or accidents occur abroad, IFALPA provides crucial support.

Pilot Voices
