Pilots Members Mobilize to Bring ALPA’s Pilot-Partisan Agenda to Congress

The role of pilots as aviation’s frontline defenders doesn’t end when they leave the flight deck. As threats to the airline piloting profession continue to evolve—whether from attempts to roll back safety standards, underregulated foreign operators, or unfair labor practices—the collective voice of ALPA’s members has never been more vital in influencing policy decisions.

At this year’s Legislative Summit, ALPA pilots gathered in Washington, D.C., to bring the Association’s message directly to lawmakers: modernize the air traffic control system, take the necessary action to prevent reduced-crew operations, and enact pilot mental-health legislation. They met with legislators to press for action on issues that directly affect their livelihoods and to continue building strong relationships with elected officials of all political stripes who understand that, when pilots speak, they speak for everyone who depends on a safe and secure air transportation system.

Whether on Capitol Hill or Parliament Hill, ALPA members are leading the charge to shape a safer, stronger, and more secure future for their profession and the airline industry—making clear that safety, security, and labor rights aren’t negotiable.
