ALPA President Joins Flight 5342 Families in Calling for Urgent Safety Reforms
More than 19 months after the midair collision that claimed 67 lives near Washington, D.C., families of Flight 5342 gathered on Capitol Hill alongside ALPA President Capt. Jason Ambrosi, National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy, and several members of Congress to urge the passage of critical aviation safety reforms. Ambrosi emphasized the need to turn the NTSB’s safety recommendations into requirements, including integrated ADS-B In technology that would provide pilots with enhanced traffic awareness and collision alerts. “We owe it to the 67 people we lost, and to the millions who trust us with their lives every day, to finish this job,” Ambrosi said.
