Pilots of Air Creebec Join ALPA
ALPA gained another pilot group this week, as the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) certified the Association as the bargaining agent for the pilots of Air Creebec, a Cree-owned airline operating in Québec and Ontario.
“With every pilot group we welcome to our union, our united voice grows stronger,” said ALPA president Capt. Jason Ambrosi. “We welcome Air Creebec pilots and look forward to working beside you, bringing ALPA’s resources and expertise to support you and your careers.”
Air Creebec pilots join 21 fellow Canadian pilot groups in ALPA, representing more than 95 percent of Canada’s professional pilots at 13,500-plus total pilots.
“We are thrilled to add the pilots of Air Creebec. The addition of their unique voice to ALPA’s ranks strengthens our presence in Québec and further unites pilots from all regions of Canada,” said Capt. Tim Perry, ALPA Canada president. “Today marks a new chapter for the pilots of Air Creebec. Together we will take the important next steps for your continued success.”
The more than 80 Air Creebec pilots fly scheduled flights, cargo services, and charter services throughout Quebec and Ontario on a fleet that includes the Dash 8 and the ATR-72. Prior to CIRB certification, the pilots were non-union since the airline’s inception.
