Recognizing Your Contributions to Your Union

September 4, 2026

A Message from ALPA President Capt. Jason Ambrosi

As we celebrate Labor Day this weekend, we honor the sacrifices and solidarity of workers past and present. Through our unity, union members across industries have improved safety and quality of life for all workers. When union workers band together—from factories and freight yards to flight decks and everywhere in between—labor makes our countries strong.

For 95 years, ALPA pilots have fought day in and day out to make our profession and industry safer and stronger. The progress we benefit from today required perseverance, and now we must continue this fight. As an ALPA member, you are part of this movement. Labor Day recognizes your contributions.

Unions are founded on the simple principle that the united voices of workers are always louder than the sum of their parts. When 80,000 pilots speak as one, we are unstoppable. But that united voice requires individuals to step up, raise a concern, find a solution, and dedicate their time and energy to our union.

In recognition of Labor Day, I want to thank every ALPA member who has stepped up for our profession. This weekend, we honor the fights for stronger contracts that we won and the safety gains we championed. We win because we choose solidarity over division and strategy over reaction. Together as One ALPA, we continue this fight to make aviation and the piloting profession safer and stronger.
