ALPA Summer Internship

Through our summer internship program, we want to connect with motivated students from a variety of educational backgrounds.

As an intern for ALPA, you will engage in our day-to-day operations, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at how our staff supports airline pilots. See how our work shapes the aviation industry while learning from experienced professionals. 

Applications for summer 2026 internships are due February 20, 2026.

2026 Summer Internships at ALPA

Eight-week paid internships are available in several ALPA departments. Interns will be based in our McLean, Va., offices just outside of Washington, D.C. with the program running from June 1 through July 24, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, you must be the dependent of an active or retired ALPA member in good standing. Additionally, applicants must be currently enrolled in college and entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year, or a graduate program in fall 2026.

Important Dates

February 20
All applications and supporting documentation must be received by February 20, 2026.

March 13
Applicants chosen to participate in the program will be notified of their acceptance.

June 1
Internship starts.

July 24
Internship ends.

1. Your résumé

2. A copy of your official academic transcript through fall 2025

3. Essays (review the questions here)

4. Any additional documents to support your application

5. Letter(s) of recommendation (preferred, but not required)
