PAL Aerospace Pilots Implement Their First ALPA-Negotiated Contract
With the pilots’ first ALPA-negotiated contract behind them, the PAL Aerospace Master Executive Council (MEC) spent the majority of 2025 working on implementing their collective agreement. With six divisions composing PAL Aerospace, the MEC leaders were busy ensuring that all pilots received the full benefits of the contract.
In September, the company announced it had entered into a contract with Medavie Health NL, Inc., to operate fixed-wing air-ambulance services for Newfoundland and Labrador under the province’s Integrated Emergency Health Services program. The 10-year agreement, with an option to renew for an additional five years, establishes PAL Aerospace as the single, long-term provider responsible for ensuring reliable medical transport across the province using a fleet of King Air 350s and Twin Otters.
To fulfill the terms of the contract, the airline is increasing the number of aircraft within this division, as well as hiring approximately 40 additional pilots to meet operational requirements.
In early 2026, new MEC leaders took office—and the pilot group looks forward to more opportunities on the horizon.
