Kelowna Flightcraft Pilots Work Toward a New Agreement
The Kelowna Flightcraft Master Executive Council (MEC) continues to work toward securing a new collective agreement. The pilots’ previous contract expired in March 2025. The pilot group’s Negotiating Committee has been in active negotiations with management since that time.
Progress has been slow, and pilot negotiators have faced several challenges, including obtaining flight release and time to conduct ALPA work and adequately prepare for bargaining—as well as management’s inflexibility on scheduling bargaining dates. After multiple rounds of negotiations, the pilots have received limited responses from management, and the parties are still far apart on key terms related to pay and scheduling.
The dedication and professionalism of Kelowna Flightcraft pilots was once again demonstrated throughout 2025. They flew tirelessly into fire-ravaged communities, assisting with critical evacuations and transporting international firefighters from Latin America to help combat the devastating wildfires that strike western Canada each year.
“We need to secure an industry-standard collective agreement that reflects the hard work we do,” said Capt. Andreas Geng, the pilot group’s MEC chair. “In doing so, the company will not only recognize our commitment, but also strengthen pilot retention, ensuring that Kelowna Flightcraft remains a company where pilots can build meaningful and rewarding careers.”
