JetBlue Pilots Focus on Securing a PilotForward Contract

As 2025 ended, JetBlue Airways pilots remained focused on attaining a PilotForward Contract that advances their careers while securing the achievements in the group’s first contract reached in 2018 and the economic gains realized in the 2023 contract extension. Almost two years into contract negotiations, progress at the bargaining table has been slow.

“While direct negotiations grow more difficult, we’ve strived to build the unity of this pilot group through communications, events, and transparency,” said Capt. Wayne Scales, JetBlue ALPA Master Executive Council (MEC) chair. “However, it’s not enough to look to the next contact; we must also vigilantly protect the current contract, which was hard won by this pilot group.”

The emphasis on contract enforcement is reflected in the group’s communications, which provide contractual information and updates about grievances, both resolved and in process. Through podcasts, e-mails, and an active Pilot-to-Pilot Committee, the pilots are kept informed and engaged.

“Our pilots rely on us to protect their rights under our current contract, and we’re confident that improvements will be achieved in the next one,” Scales remarked. “With the unwavering unity of this pilot group, we’ll build on the current contract and obtain the new one that we’ve earned.”

Our peers at other airlines have made significant improvements in pay, work rules, and benefits—while JetBlue pilots lag.
