Frontier Pilots Continue to Bargain for Contract They Deserve
As Frontier Airlines pilots moved into 2026, the pilot group has been in contract negotiations for more than two and a half years. Although they’re experiencing challenges at the negotiating table, the Master Executive Council (MEC) is focused on securing a contract that Frontier pilots and the entire piloting profession can be proud of.
The pilots’ current contract, particularly with respect to compensation, may have wider implications beyond the Frontier pilot group, including other groups currently in negotiations as it may normalize economic terms by providing a data point for other employers to cite during bargaining.
In 2025, Frontier hired 259 pilots and currently has 2,260 on the seniority list. November saw the first class of 36 new hires after months of stagnation.
“The Frontier MEC is proud of our dedicated team of pilot volunteers,” said Capt. Michael Maynard, the pilot group’s MEC chair, “Each day, they continue to protect pilots’ contractual rights while working tirelessly to achieve the contract the Frontier pilot group has earned.”
Nearly all our pilots are prepared to take action if it comes to that. This strong show of unity underscores our commitment to achieving a fair contract that meets the needs of our pilots.
