Breeze Airways Pilots Strengthen Unity and Momentum in 2025

In 2025, Breeze Airways pilots elected a new Master Executive Council (MEC), with Capt. Alexander Kluge reelected as chair. He and his fellow officers are committed to advancing contractual rights, improving quality of life, fostering unity and safety, and securing a strong future for all Breeze pilots.

The year ended with the pilots stronger than ever and united in pursuit of their first collective bargaining agreement after nearly three years of negotiations—and that unity delivered results. When management proposed purchasing a single-engine aircraft to deadhead pilots that would not be flown by Breeze pilots—but such nonemployee pilots would still be assigned Breeze pilot seniority numbers, violating tentatively agreed upon contract language—the MEC pushed back, leveraging the collective voice of ALPA. Ultimately, the union’s long-standing “one level of safety” philosophy and seniority protections prevailed—a clear testament to the strength and solidarity of the pilot group.

Other milestones included the airline being certified as a U.S. flag carrier by the FAA in September, expanding Breeze’s reach into international markets, and the MEC’s launch of key pilot support programs—Pilot Peer Support and the Critical Incident Response Program—along with a redesigned ALPA Breeze website to improve communication and engagement.

“The victories we achieved in 2025 show what’s possible when we stand together despite management’s intransigence and unwillingness to negotiate,” said Kluge. “Now, our mission is clear: deliver a contract through our unity, resources, and tools that protects our careers and reflects the value we bring to Breeze every day.”

Breeze pilots are committed to the long-term success of our airline, but it’s time for senior management to recognize the contributions we make and invest in their pilots.
