Scheduling Workshop: Day of Operations/Crew Desk

Hosted by ALPA’s Economic & Financial Analysis Department, the Day of Operations/Crew Desk Scheduling Workshop will provide a unique, collaborative opportunity for Scheduling Committee members, including their active monthly scheduling experts, from all ALPA/Union pilot groups. 

Discussions will include: 

  • Scheduling Committee involvement at their NOC/OCC/SOC and oversight of crew desk/services departments;

  • Reserves order of assignments, long call, short call, RAPs;

  • Trip cancellations/reassignments; 

  • Scheduling modification by pilots including drops, swaps, pickup, and pilot-to-pilot trip trades;

  • Current and best practices;

  • Technical/software applications; and 

  • Contract language support (including fatigue issues).

This is a union-only function for Scheduling Committee members only with no company or vendor participation. 

When

The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. CT on Wednesday, September 30 (fly in September 29), and is scheduled to conclude at 2:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, October 1. Full daily schedule TBD.

Expenses and Lodging

Lunch will be provided each day with breakfast and dinner at your discretion. Your pilot group’s Master Executive Council budget is responsible for all other travel expenses (e.g., travel, lodging, meals, and flight pay loss). Please confirm your plan to attend with your appropriate officer(s).
